ESP-01 and Linux MQTT Broker
I have successfully demonstrated a system using an ESP-01 (ESP8266) board as a MQTT Client with a Linux laptop + WiFi router running a MQTT broker and Subscriber. The ESP-01 board will run the same code as the Adafruit ESP8266 HAZZAH board.
If you find yourself in an even battle, then you didn't plan very well.
